The Terps moved to 3-0 after a decisive bashing over the University of Virginia. The Maryland Terrapins scored 42 unanswered points to overcome an early 14-0 deficit and win by a final score of 42-14.
The home side of the stadium that stretch almost totally around the stadium sans three sections were clad in black clothing for the “Black Out” Friday night game. The Terp victory marked 11-in-a-row against non-conference teams.
Quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa’s 64-yard bomb to WR Jeshaun Jones was a thing of beauty and put the Terps up 20-14 before the extra point was kicked. The Terps never looked back. In all, Tagovailoa threw for 342 yards in the game, his 13th game passing for over 300.
The Terps’ defense was ferocious in this one and had no let up in them as they had three interceptions in the 4th quarter and notched a fumble too.
