Terps Win 3rd Consecutive Bowl Game with commanding 31-13 Victory over Auburn

The Maryland Terrapin football team came to Nashville, Tennessee as a strong underdog and labeled as a team that had no chance to beat the likes of an SEC team like the Auburn Tigers. With record-setting Terps’ QB, Taulia Tagovailoa, opting-out of the TransPerfect Music City Bowl, head coach Mike Locksley turned to his inexperienced backup Billy Edwards Jr. to start this bowl game that was broadcasted nationally on ABC. Edwards led the Terps to a commanding 31-13 victory over Auburn on Saturday at Nissan Stadium, plus Edwards earned the MVP Award for this bowl game. This is the first time the Terps have ever won three consecutive bowl games dating back to 2021’s Pinstripe Bowl victory, and last year’s Duke’s Mayo Bowl win over NC State.

Game #7 Terps Men’s Basketball looks to get back to a winning record!

The Maryland Terrapins men’s basketball team got back to a 3-3 record with a nice win on Saturday and they will face Rider at the XFINITY Center tonight. The game will tip at 7 PM and will be streamed online through Big Ten Plus (B1G+), and of course on the radio with the Voice of the Terps Johnny Holliday. The last time these teams met was back in 2015.

This is the 105th season of Terps basketball and expectations are high in year two of the Kevin Willard era. The Terps returned the “Big Three” of fifth-year seniors Jahmir Young and Donta Scott, along with junior big man Julian Reese and added some impressive freshmen like 6’5″ guard DeShawn Harris-Smith. Young is on a lot of “watch lists” for top players in the country.

Game #12 Terps Football wraps up their regular season

The Maryland Terrapins were not expected to be beat Ohio State or Penn State or even Michigan this season — but the Terps are supposed to beat all of the other teams. The Terps are already bowl-eligible with a 6-5 record going into this game against Rutgers. This game is the final one of the regular season in the 12-game schedule. Depending on what Maryland does today could determine a bowl game for them. A 7-5 record looks much better than going 6-6, agree? Both Maryland and Rutgers enter this game with identical records.

Game #10 Terps football in Nebraska

The Maryland Terrapins were not expected to be beat Ohio State or Penn State — but they were expected to beat unranked Illinois in College Park as well as Northwestern on the road — and the Terps failed to capitalize. After this game, one team will be 6-4, and the other at 5-5. The Terps hope they are the team at 6-4.

Game 1 Terps basketball is ready with the games that count!

The Maryland Terrapins women’s basketball schedule opened last night as Brenda Frese’s No. 14 ranked Terps crushed Harvard 98-75 last night to get the season started with a W. That marks the 15th consecutive season opening with a win. Tonight, it is the men’s turn to get on it as they face Mount St. Mary’s at the XFINITY Center. The game will tip at 7 PM and will be streamed online through Big Ten Plus (B1G+), and of course on the radio with the Voice of the Terps Johnny Holliday.

This is the 105th season of Terps basketball and they are looking to extend their win streak in home openers (46) dating back to the 1977-78 season during the Lefty Driesell era – the third-longest such streak nationally. This is just the third time that Maryland has opened its season against the Mountaineers after having done so on Nov. 23, 1991 (W, 83-53) and Nov. 13, 2015 (W, 80-56).

Game #9 Everything can be righted with a Terps victory over Penn State

The Maryland Terrapins are mired in an unexplainable three-game losing streak. You can lose to Top-10 Ohio State, and accept that loss — but losing to unranked Illinois in College Park and Northwestern is unacceptable. From the play calling to the lack of execution to the mind-boggling 15-yard penalties for unnecessary roughness and unsportsmanlike conduct — this starts to point back to head coach Michael Locksley. This has become an undisciplined team, and if this was a pro team, you’d be wondering what is going on inside the practices and the locker room. Today, the task is far from easy at No. 9 ranked Penn State is the opponent.

Game #8 in Northwestern as Terps try to get back on track!

The Maryland Terrapins off of a bye week and a two-game losing streak. You can lose to Top-10 Ohio State, and accept that loss — but losing to unranked Illinois in College Park is unacceptable. From the play calling to the execution to the mind-boggling onsides kick to start the second half, the loss had you wondering what just happened? Head coach Michael Locksley can be upset at poor execution, but what about coaching decisions that failed like a timeout near the end of the half that gave Illinois a chance to regroup and go for a touchdown instead of a field goal? Okay, enough about that. Today is a new day, and hopefully a better day for the Maryland Terps. They are in Illinois to face Northwestern. Time for Maryland to get back to winning.
